New Solo Album From Great Lake Swimmers’ Frontman Tony Dekker
I know Pete is a fan of the band Great Lake Swimmers, so I was compelled to tell you all about a new solo album from the group’s frontman, Tony Dekker (via exclaim.ca)
The new album, called Prayer of the Woods, will be out October 8th. This guy must be mega-talented because he played every instrument on the album, including “guitars, accordion, mandolin, piano, pump organ, Hammond B3, mellotron, harmonica, autoharp, and percussion.” Bob Dylan would love this guy!
The album of 10 tracks includes mostly originals with a couple of cover songs and “presents a stark portrait of a Canadian troubadour.” Sounds serious, and arty! For fans like Pete, don’t worry, the album won’t mean the end of Great Lake Swimmers, whose next album is due next year.
