When Beyonce is Actually Singing, It’s Apparently News
The scandal that keeps on giving. Beyonce was under fire for using a backing track / lip syncing at President Barack Obama’s inauguration. She is singing at the Super Bowl this Sunday, where Shania Twain was previously a victim of lip syncing. At a press conference, Beyonce addressed this head on, saying “I will absolutely be singing live. I am well-rehearsed. I will absolutely be singing live, and this is what I was born to do” (via NME).
She also explained why she didn’t see live at the inauguration. “I am a perfectionist, and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed. And I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra… Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound-check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk.”
Can we never hear about this again please?
If You Fire Me, I Might Go Crazy on The Company’s Twitter Account. Sorry, HMV
HMV, which recently went into administration in the UK, laid off a bunch of people yesterday. One employee clearly had access to the company’s Twitter account, and decided to vent a little.
One message read “we’re tweeting live from HR where we’re all being fired! Exciting!!”, while a follow up tweet said “There are over 60 of us being fired at once! Mass execution, of loyal employees who love the brand.”
Actually, that sounds like a press release – are we sure it was an inside job?
Mike Tyson Likes Justin Bieber
No real news here, just that former “baddest man on the planet” Mike Tyson likes the teen pop star who is the exact opposite, Justin Bieber (via MTV). That’s like Charles Manson saying he loves the Dalai Lama.
