Being a 3-man news organization has its moments of hand-to-the-forehead idiocy at some of the stuff you miss while asleep. Today, some music notes that we totally missed in the past 2-3 weeks… sorry.
Green Day announces new material
Yup. Missed this one on Tuesday. The band has 3 albums coming out (Uno, Dos, and Tre, respectively), and the first single from September’s Uno will see daylight (sound can see light?) on July 16th.

Pete Doherty back in rehab
Pete Doherty has a drug problem?! Totally missed that. Earlier this week, the singer flew to Thailand to enter a drug rehab facility – dropping off Glasgow’s T in the Park festival for the second consecutive year. Bummer.

New Gallows Album details
Gallows released new artwork and a track from their upcoming new eponymous album on Monday. It’s their first album without singer Frank Carter (now in Pure Love) and with singer Wade McNeil (formerly of AlexisonFire), and it will please metal fans.

Ringo shoots down a Beatles’ sons band
Wait – did somebody actually think this was a good idea? Earlier this year, we missed telling you that Paul McCartney’s son James was discussing forming a band with other Beatles sons. On Wednesday, Ringo quashed this by telling NME that neither of his sons were interested in the project. No Starkey drummer? No Beatles tribute band.
