Watch! Calexico – Para

Calexico the band are not named after Caliexico the California-Mexico border city. They aren’t from California OR Mexico – they are from Tucson, Arizona. Yes, I feel cheated. The band has quite the extensive catalogue, and is looking to add to it, having announced a new album called Algiers (via Stereogum). The album is out on September 11 (no comment).

Their first single is Para, which comes complete with a video. The song is a midtempo, atmospheric song with building sounds and layers, adding horns and guitar effects as the song winds to a crashing close. Make your ears happy and check it out below.
