Godspeed You! Black Emperor Are Going to Be Blowing Minds on Announced Fall Tour
If you don’t know Godspeed You! Black Emperor, you’ll thank me for introducing them to you. The Montreal band are a post-rock collective, playing epic instrumental songs, often sprinkled with sound bites such as a homeless man rambling, or apocalyptic warnings. The band released a series of albums before splitting up, only to reform for a tour in December 2010, which followed into 2011 (and thankfully I FINALLY got to see them).
Lucky fans in America will now get a chance to see them, as they have announced a short fall tour (via Pitchfork). No Canadian dates?! All of the tour dates, including the festival appearance at Pitchfork’s Chicago shindig, are listed below. You can also listen to the slow building Moya, off of their 1999 album, Slow Riot For New Zerø Kanada.
