Watch! Cut Copy – Take Me Over

It’s sort of weird when you hear about a music video on gadget websites like Geekologie and Gizmodo before music websites like Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, etc. – but that’s what happened for the latest Cut Copy video. Aussie dance rockers, Cut Copy, make synth-tinged electro pop that is quite excellent (unlike my description of their music). Ryan Patrick made a video that features a young bullied girl making her own super hero suit, ala Iron Man, except she is more of the Cardboard Box Girl type of super heroine. And she wants revenge.

This video won over the geeks behind Geekologie and Gizmodo, hence them posting the video before music websites, and hence me wondering if it was an official video, or just a cool fan video (since it’s on Vimeo and not YouTube just yet). I tweeted the director, Ryan Patrick, to ask if it is official, but no word back just yet. Check out the video for Take Me Over, off of their latest record, Zonoscope.
