Watch! The Jezabels – Rosebud

Aussie darlings, The Jezabels, have a new video for the song, Rosebud. The song is lifted from their first full length album, Prisoner, which follows 3 EPs of releases (as detailed in the PeteHatesMusic interview with the Jezabels). The video features singer Hayley Mary slowly spinning in a circle, with lots of images fading to the background of the picture, and sort of reminds me of an 80s retro video – although I don’t think they are trying to be ironic. And a rose even makes an appearance! Imagery!

Besides celebrating a new video, The Jezabels just won The 7th Amp, which is an Australian Music Prize (and comes with a sweet $30,000 payday). They beat out Gotye’s Making Mirrors and Boy & Bear’s Moonfire, among others. Congrats to the band – I expect to see some kickback in my mailbox any day now….
