Friday Afternoon Funnies: The Karate Rap

Sometimes, when I watch old television commercials or tutorials, I can’t help but think how incredibly lame they were. Sure, we were brought up under different media impressions, but did anyone back then think these videos were cool or useful? The Simpson’s Troy McClure and his spoof of these videos hits the nail on the head.

A video making the rounds the past couple of days is The Karate Rap. This is a video from 1986, that combines the desire for people to practice karate with the then-emerging genre of rap. When these two forces are combined, and combined in such excellent music and visual artistry, I don’t know why all of us aren’t doing karate today.

Without further adieu – time for your I can’t believe it still doesn’t have a better name Friday Afternoon Funnies. Just remember one thing: Karate – train your body!
