Guaranteed Awesomesness: Gorillaz to Team Up with Andre 3000 and James Murphy

Gorillaz, Andre 3000, James Murphy. 3 people who have never been in my kitchen. Also, 3 people who will be collaborating for the next edition of Converse’s Three Artists. One Song project (via Consequence of Sound). Their track will be the grammatically incorrect DoYaThing, and will be up on the Converse website on February 23. The previous artists to be featured in this series included Matt and Kim, Andrew WK, and Soulja Boy. Gorillaz fans will have the added bonus of great collaborators, but a Converse Gorillaz shoe.

Former Smashing Pumpkins Guitarist James Iha Announces New Solo Album

James Iha left the Smashing Pumpkins just as they were self-destructing. He released a solo album in 1998, before somewhat strangely joining A Perfect Circle for a handful of live dates and their cover album, eMOTIVe. James is back with a new solo album, called Look to the Sky (via TwentyFourBit). The album is due out in March and will have 12 tracks and 2 bonus tracks, which makes for 14 tracks according to my calculator. Let’s hope his return is better than the post-Iha Pumpkins return (with the disaster that was Zeitgeist).

Watch Who You Unfriend on Facebook – You Might Get Murdered!

A man from Tennessee has been charged with two counts of first degree murder after shooting two people who unfriended his 30 year old daughter on Facebook (via Gizmodo). This story reminds me of the story PeteHatesMusic posted, about the guy who smashed his guitar over his wife’s head. People need to relax!

The victims, Billy Payne Jr. and his girlfriend, Billie Jean Hayworth, unfriended Marvin Harry Potter’s daughter, Jenelle. Reports say that Jenelle harassed the couple leading up to the January 31 bizarre shooting. Marvin Potter allegedly entered the couple’s house and shot the pair. The mother was found holding her 8-month old daughter when she was discovered – insane stuff. Now, there is likely more to it than just Facebook, but if you are thinking of unfriending someone, make sure they are sane before you do so.
