Watch (if you have 17 mins to spare)! The Flaming Lips – I Want You (She’s So Heavy) cover
The Flaming Lips released announced that they will be working with Ms. John Lennon aka Yoko Ono on their upcoming album. Their love fest with the Beatles was also exhibited during their New Year’s Eve show, in which they played a cover of the classic Abbey Road tune, I Want You (She’s So Heavy). The original song comes in at just under 8 minutes, making it one of the longest Beatles songs. The Flaming Lips version? A mere 17 minutes. The video features the regular bizarro stuff you’ve come to expect from the Flaming Lips – lights, lasers, stage jamming, dancers, the whole lot. If you like The Flaming Lips and/or Beatles cover songs and/or lights and lasers – give it a watch. And hey, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline even joins in the fun.
