Morning Music Notes
Leeds & Reading Wrap
Reading and Leeds happened this past weekend – and I’m almost 100% sure that if you’re reading this, you weren’t there (prove me wrong!). Headliners were Muse, The Strokes, My Chemical Romance, plus piles of future headliners on the BBC Introducing stage(s). Tons of photos and videos are popping up this morning – including a pretty nice wrap-up from the BBC…
The King of Hip Hop – Eminem
Rolling Stone has put together another sure-to-debated list. This time, their statistical analysis of the question, “who is the king of hip hop in 2011?” Some interesting insights here – Lil’ Wayne is the top grossing live performer, and Eminem has a much more powerful social network than ALL OF CANADA COMBINED.

Liam Gallagher To Sue Noel Gallagher?
Look, I’m not going to pretend I have a clue what these guys are angry about. This particular suit seems to have something to do with comments Noel made leading up to the band’s 2009 split, and dating back the the day Liam was born. Part of the claim is that “he was telling porkies for the sake of his mates” Judge Judy is expected to throw this one out of court immediately.

VMA Wrap
Beyonce pregnant, yadda yadda, Katy Perry, yadda yadda, Laday Gaga. The MTV Video Music Awards happened last night, and the reviews are racking up page-views as you read this! Cool stuff to check out: Adele performed as the most accomplished singer of the evening, Odd Future performed and won some awards, and Jay-Z & Kanye West performed their new single ‘Otis’ at the MTV Music Awards last night. Apparently someone jumped on stage and ran around, or something… Video Music Awards are complete trash, and anything that ‘just happens!’ there should be considered completely contrived. That being said, Otis is a very well-done tribute, and Jay-Z rarely disappoints on a big stage. Tons of pics and video after the jump.
