Morning Music Notes – Michael Jackson Has a Brother Called Jackie Jackson
Michael Jackson’s family are planning to have a tribute concert for the deceased King of Pop (that’s Michael Jackson, by the way). NME reports that his mother Katherine plus his siblings Marlon, Tito, Jackie and LaToya are to attend a press conference on Monday, July 25 in Beverly Hills at 10am local time to reveal details of the show. Wait, Michael has a sibling named Jackie Jackson? The show is rumoured to focus on his 1982 smash hit ‘Thriller’ album, for which the video still gives me nightmares. I might also still wet my bed. That last sentence was related to Thriller, not any other problems that my body might have.
“Jackson’s brother Jermaine tried to organise a star studded concert for the late singer back in December 2009. It was set to be staged at Wembley Stadium last summer but fell through after the promoters World Awards Media went into liquidation.”
Tell Your Ears to Listen: Bush – The Sound of Winter
As previously reported, 90s superstars Bush will a release a new album called The Sea of Memories on September 13. It appears PHM is not lying, as Bush have released a single for the world to hear. Radio station KROQ are streaming Bush’s first single on their website, so give The Sound of Winter a spin.
Snow Patrol Unveil THEY ARE WIZARDS New Music
Northern Irish rockers Snow Patrol made it big a few years ago by having a song play during Grey’s Anatomy. Now I cry every time I hear that bloody song! NME tells us that Snow Patrol have unveiled their comeback single ‘Called Out In The Dark’. The song will be released as a single track and as part of an EP on September 4. A video (which is not THE video) is down below, so you can listen to the track.
