Morning Music Notes – Rage Against the Rumours

Are Rage Against the Machine Recording a New Album? Maybe?

The band have frequently denied making new material. But the rumours of Rage Against the Machine recording new music have popped up many times since they reunited back at Coachella in 2007. Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler may have the inside scoop, which is maybe the first time a scoop has been attributed to him.

Rage drummer Brad Wilk helped out on the upcoming Black Sabbath LP, and Butler was asked about a tour by Metal Insider. “We’re not sure yet [which drummer we will use]. We don’t know because I think Brad’s got commitments with Rage Against the Machine… It’ll probably be either Tommy or Brad, depending on their commitment” (via Guardian).

Except…Rage have NO tour dates scheduled. So either the band are playing some rousing games of Call of Duty or they might be recording a new album. Let’s tweet Tom Morello like mad and see what he says.

The Flaming Lips to Make Anatomically Correct Chocolate Hearts. But Of Course!

You cannot claim the Flaming Lips do unoriginal releases. Whether it’s gummi bear skulls, getting blood from other artists, or other crazy ass shit, they have been all over the map. Their latest release? Why, it’s anatomically correct chocolate hearts which have a USB mix called Songs of Love (via Pitchfork).

The chocolate is “72% South American dark chocolate studded with hazelnut mini whoppers and waffle cone crunch.” Check out a creepy pic of singer Wayne Coyne eating a chocolate heart below.

Watch! Hundred Waters – Boreal

We have a bizarre, beautiful and violent clip for a song that could be described as the same (except the latter description might be sort of wrong – wordplay is not my strong people). The band are Hundred Waters and the video is for Boreal. Check it out below.
