Listen! Hot Chip – Look At Where We Are (Four Tet Remix)

Hot Chip are dancing about and celebrating their recent release of In Our Heads (note: dramatization – they are dancing for other reasons, like free tacos or something). Hot Chip often remix other people’s work, but now it is their turn in the barber’s chair, which is now apparently an expression. Four Tet gets a crack at the Hot Chip song, Look At Where We Are.

The thing about upbeat songs and remixes is that you need a beat that won’t make you want to bash your head off a wall after the first minute due to repetitiveness. At first, I always think I’m going to get sick of the beat in Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Niggas in Paris, but I never do. Now, this remixed song has some clacking beat that does not get better over time. It’s not until about 3.5 minutes, when the beat gets changed up, does the song truly get going. Check it out below (and please, no head bashing off of the walls – we need all the readers we can get).
