Watch! Odd Future – Sam is Dead

Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator has directed/created a new video (under the alias of Wolf Haley) for the track Sam Is Dead (via pitchfork.com). It’s clearly inspired by war movies of the past.

It starts with soldiers sitting down, chilling, before shots ring it and everybody takes off running (except one dude, who doesn’t seem to be in any rush). This is another video styled as a mini-movie, so you’ve got opening and closing ‘credits’. Eventually soldiers bust open the door to a tiny tin shack and find a startled Tyler having a smoke, wearing a teal kitten t-shirt. He’s a man with a real cool golden gun, but I guess the interrogators didn’t like that James Bond movie, because they decide to ‘get rid’ of the Creator. Take a look:
