Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) To Reimagine Songs for Top 40 Underdog Series

Mos Def is now The Artist Formerly Known as Mos Def, and by that I mean he is now called Yasiin Bey. Interesting how that sort of changed in the credits a few episodes into the latest series of Dexter, in which he starred. Yasiin will be working on the Top 40 Underdog series, which is when he reimagines Top 40 tracks with respectable, socially-conscious lyrics (via Consequence of Sound).

First up on his list is the recent Jay-Z and Kanye West track, Niggas in Paris, which is now called Niggas in Poorest (I see what he did there!). Will the series work or will it flop? Listen to track 1 and stay tuned for more.
