Listen! Beck – Dreams

Beck’s Morning Phase phase is over. Welcome back ‘Party Beck’. After teasing some artwork and a song snippet, genre-hopping artist (and recent Album of the Year Grammy winner) artist Beck has returned with a dreamy, dancey new song called Dreams. That explains why it sounds dreamy I guess (either that, or I need to use better adjectives).

The song does sound like MGMT’s Electric Feel at times, with its main rhythm being a bit of an edited version of that riff. However, Beck’s zany influences, sounds, vocals, and song structures are wholly original, and Dreams exhibits these vintage qualities of Beck. No word on an album for Dreams to sit on, but for now, enjoy new Beck.
