CMW Critical Conclusions for…The Maladies of Adam Stokes (Canadian Music Week 2015 concert review)

Thursday night at Canadian Music Week brought a lot of bar hopping. First on the bill was The Maladies of Adam Stokes.

Venue: Velvet Underground

First Impression: That’s a small stage for 6 people!

Stage Presence: For 6 people on a small stage, they sure moved around a lot.

Crowd Reaction: It was 9pm, so not a huge crowd, and they were very quiet. It reminded me of the quiet crowd in the Simpsons at Hullabalooza.

Random Observation: PHM contributor Kristina liked the female keyboardist’s shirt, while I thought the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club shirt that another band member was also pretty cool. PeteHatesFashion, coming in 2016?

Last Word: 7.5/10. Good strong vocals and a horn (was that a cornet?) made for a nice set. A good band to throw on at the cottage.
