CMW Critical Conclusions for… Towers and Trees (Canadian Music Week 2015 concert review)

PHM moved along Queen Street West and ended up checking out Towers and Trees, as Canadian Music Week 2015 continued.

Venue: Cameron House

First Impression: Man, is it effing hot at Cameron House. And somehow, 6 people managed to cram on a stage even smaller than the stage at the Velvet Underground.

Stage Presence: Really good and energetic considering the small confines.

Crowd Reaction: Also really hot and really crammed, but the crowd was having fun and clapping (and snapped!) when prompted.

Random Observation: This will get written along this week, and hopefully not at future festivals, but to the woman with the flash on her camera, lighting it off every 5 seconds in the band’s face – get the hell outta there. Bands, you are entitled to kick these “photographers” in the face.

Last Word: 8/10. As I tweeted mid-show, the song West Coast is a great song, but is spectacular live. The band were a treat to watch, knocking out good tune after good tune throughout the set. Good harmonies and melodies, and their expressions of joy ensured the band had as much fun as the crowd did.
