Morning Music Notes – Just an Old Guy, Yelling at a Train

Here’s a track from the awesomely named Vancouver Sleep Clinic. The gig posters around town must lead to some interesting and sleep-deprived attendees. Vancouver Sleep Clinic is Tim Bettinson out of Australia, with an EP on the way soon.

Possibly the sickest story that I have read or posted on PHM, Lostprophets’ lead singer Ian Watkins has been charged with three counts of sexual assault involving children, six counts involving child pornography, and one count involving animal pornography. I’ll let you read the gruesome details yourself – you have been warned. (via Stereogum)

Remember when we told you that Winamp was shutting down for good on December 20? It turns out that people aren’t happy about it, and did what all reasonable people with busy lives do – start a petition! The group has gotten 25,000 signatures on Change.org. Fans are trying to get the source code (which isn’t a bad movie) to let Winamp live forever (which isn’t a bad song). (via Digital Trends)

Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich have spoken out about Spotify about its evils. What does Liam Gallagher think? I don’t even know what Spotify is. Well put. (via NME)

Meanwhile, Moby says that Thom Yorke’s stance on Spotify is like watching “an old guy yelling at trains”. Do old guys yell at trains? (via NME)
