Morning Music Notes – It Really Whipped the Llama’s Ass

Some blog news before we get into ‘real’ news. I’m happy to say that PeteHatesMusic has been shortlisted from a lengthy list of over 100 blogs to make it to the final 10 for Best Arts & Culture / Theatre / Music blog in the MIB Awards. Thanks to all of those who voted – the jury stage now awaits us. We’re also 1 of 40 blogs in the longlist for the 2013 Canadian Weblogs Awards. Last year, a jury picked us as 1 of the 5 shortlisted blogs. Wish us luck or else! Okay, time for some music.

The Feather - What If
We have a gentle, almost folky track from The Feather. Rich harmonies, great instrumentation and a cool sound all make for a good song. What check out Coldplay cover What If below.

For those who fought the good fight and shunned iTunes in favour of awesome 90s mp3 player Winamp – your fight is over. Winamp will shut down on December 20 of this year. Download it before they remove the official download. You’ll always be my first, Winamp. (via Slash)

Because of that viral video of a fan at a Boston Celtics game singing Living on a Prayer like a maniac (I still think it’s staged, like most of those arena entertainment videos), the Bon Jovi track has re-entered to the Billboard charts. (via – surprise – Billboard)

Not to be outdone by Roger Waters’ recent album announcement, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour is also recording a new solo album. WORK TOGETHER ALREADY! (via Consequence of Sound)
