Morning Music Notes – The “I Don’t Care” Edition

So I’m off to New York – Brooklyn specifically – to take in the Atoms for Peace concert. Therefore, I have little time for mortals like yourself, when I should be off stalking Thom Yorke, Flea, Nigel Godrich, and did I say Thom Yorke? Anyway, here’s a quick Friday edition for you, because I love you as much as I love Thom Yorke (my diary says it’s a LOT).

Tim Hecker - Black Refraction - YouTube screen cap
PHM favourite Tim Hecker dropped a neat piano piece for us off of upcoming album Virgins, out October 14. The track is Black Refraction, and it’s like a slightly happier version of music found on his Dropped Piano EP (which is an excellent piece of dark piano music). It seems simple, but the way the piece unravels is pure audio bliss. Check out another new one from Montreal’s Tim Hecker.
