Watch! Coldplay – Atlas (from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack)

Hating Coldplay could be a million dollar industry. Despite being one of the world’s biggest bands, they have their detractors, especially in the mainstream media and blogging world. However, we’ve been fans since Day 1, and their Mylo Xyloto tour was one of the best gigs we’ve seen. Between albums, the band return with a new song called Atlas, which will be on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack.

Atlas isn’t a giant departure from Coldplay’s core sound. It features Chris Martin doing what he does on the piano, with Johnny Buckland sprinkling in his guitar effects as the song builds. The song is more layered and atmospheric than a lot of Coldplay’s catalogue – almost like it was written for a movie!
