The final band, which definitely stretched my usual 8pm bedtime was Sunclef, assisted by Justin Peroff (from Broken Social Scene and also Eight and a Half), better know as Sunclef + Peroff.
Venue: Sneaky Dee’s
First Impressions: Very cool vibe. Looked like Sunclef and Peroff were figuring out shit as they went, as they spoke about what was to follow and the direction to go at times. Or maybe they were asking if that cool guy from PeteHatesMusic was in the crowd.
Stage Presence: Lots of movement for guys playing electronic drums and twisting knobs.
Random Observation: The photographer to fan ratio was abnormally high.
Crowd Reaction: A smaller crowd but some of them were moving like it was the best beats they’ve ever heard. Some of them were bloody close.
Water/alcohol/neither: No time for fluids!
The Last Word: 9.0 /10 – I’ve ended the streak of 8s. Great shit thrown down by these two guys. I didn’t want their set to end. The studio stuff is good. The live show is great.
