Watch! Little Boots – Motorway

Electro pop singer Victoria Hesketh, aka Little Boots, won BBC’s Sound of 2009. So no pressure on any follow up albums, right? Well, the follow up album is just around the corner, and we get an excellent sample of it right now.

The track is Motorway, lifted from upcoming album Nocturnes, out in May 2013. We get some excellent vocals, subtle piano and synth backing parts until the second verse, when things in most songs typically get going. It’s a mix of a gentle pop song and a dance floor tune, without alienating either genre (like how my singing and dancing alienates both genres).
