No New Tool Album in 2013, and It’s Not Scooter-Accident Related

If you didn’t hear the scooter accident news, you’re forgiven for thinking my headline is moronic. A couple of members of Tool were in minor Scooter accidents, which apparently delayed the recording of their new album. Singer Maynard James Keenan has told a Chilean radio station (as one does), ““No new disc, not this year… I have not written any songs. So no, there is nothing” (via Consequence of Sound). Well, that’s a depressing way to start the day.

The Flaming Lips Covering the Stone Roses, But Just How Extensively?

The Flaming Lips covered all of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side on the Moon album, originally one of the best known albums of all-time. That takes balls (or a lack of brains, which often go hand in hand). Through a series of tweets from singer Wayne Coyne, it looks like the Lips have covered several tracks from the Stone Roses debut album. Pitchfork even speculates that they are covering the entire album. This will be good for the Stone Roses, who are headlining Coachella, much to the confusion of many youngsters.
