Another Cassette Styled Mixtape Idea: Milktape – A Cassette-USB Drive

Just last month we showed you MakerBot’s Mixtape, which was an mp3 player shaped like a cassette tape. Continuing to tap the lucrative retro/nostalgia market, we now bring you MilkTape (via Tech Crunch).

MilkTape sounds like it would be appealing to cats, but it’s actually for us humans (unless you’re a cat reading this, in which case I’m sorry, Fluffy). MilkTape is a USB drive that is shaped like a cassette tape. It holds 128 MB, so about 1 song from Phish, or 15 songs from other bands. The tapes come complete with 1 blank case cover and 2 blank stickers, so you can test out your tiny handwriting skills and personalize the tape.

MilkTape

MilkTape will set you back $15, which is a bit pricey for only 128MB of storage. But you can’t put a price on love, can you? My stalking fines and restraining orders tell you otherwise. If the MilkTape premise isn’t simple enough, check out a promo video below that involves a lot of cycling and very little MilkTape love.
