Watch! Sigur Rós – Varúð (2nd Video)

Sigur Rós have decided to undertake a video series as part of their Valtari Mystery Film Experiment. As ambitious as that sounded, it seems ambitiouser more ambitious that in addition to this, they seem to be releasing two music videos for some of their songs. First Ég Anda got the double treatement (video 1, and video 2), and now Varúð does, too.

The first video for Varúð saw mountains and morse code. This video is the opposite (if a mountain can have an opposite), as it features bustling New York City, and a girl (with hair that glows like the mysterious object in the Pulp Fiction briefcase) walking through the city. This young girl probably should a) be in school and b) NOT playing in traffic.

Photographer Ryan McGinley, who created this video, wrote “This piece is my poem to New York City. I wanted to bring a childhood innocence to the streets, through a character whose own light and wonder effects the world around her. I’m always interested in an atmosphere where dreams and reality mingle on equal terms.”
