Florence + the Machine Cancels Dates, Including One I’m Going To Be At!

Bad news for festival goers this weekend (and I suppose worse news for Florence Welch) – Florence + the Machine have pulled out of Benicassim and Optimus Alive due to vocal problems (via Huffington Post). Letting crushed fans like me know via Twitter, Welch said “I cannot sing for a week… seriously I felt something snap, it was very frightening.”

Target Not Carrying Frank Ocean’s New Album, Possibly Because He’s Gay

Frank Ocean is about to release Channel Orange. Last week, he discussed falling in love with a man once, basically intimating that he is gay. Now US retail whores giants, Target, won’t be selling his album, possibly because he is gay (via Fuse). Odd Future manager Christian Clancy tweeted “Target has refused to carry Franks album due to iTunes exclusive, Interesting since they also donate to non equal rights organizations.”

Target has countered, stating a ridiculous policy they have in place: “At Target, we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, so our selection of new releases is dedicated to physical CDs rather than titles that are realized digitally in advance of the street date,” said the spokesperson. This policy included Channel Orange.

Blink 182 to Tour With Travis Barker, Because He is a Scaredy Cat

Besides being an incredible drummer, Travis Barker came claim something not many people can – he survived a fucking plane crash!! However, being in a rock band means touring, which means flying around the world. And this is a little too much for Barker (via NME).
