Nothing Out of the Ordinary Here: Naked Girl Climbs Pole, Falls and Injuries Herself at Phish Concert

On Sunday night at a Phish concert, a 19 year old girl stripped naked, climbed a 25 foot pole, and promptly fell and broke both of her ankles and one of her wrists (via Spinner). Phish were playing one of three straight nights at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center when the incident occurred. The girl was – SURPRISE – under the influence of drugs or alcohol. At a Phish concert?! The concert wasn’t without its fair share of interesting seizures: police have said they seized cocaine, bath salts, heroin, LSD, Ecstacy, hallucinogenic mushrooms, hash, marijuana and nitrous oxide as well as two loaded rifles. Time for me to make some new rifle-totin’ friends!

Not Uno, But Dos Documentaries Coming from Green Day

If I spoke a lick of Spanish, the headline would’ve been much more clever. We all know that Green Day wears make up are releasing ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tre!, a trilogy of albums over the next half a year. They are coming out with a documentary on the making of the 3 albums, as well as a documentary pre-dating Dookie (via Hollywood Reporter). The filmmakers have a good track record, too. Tim Lynch produced Green Day’s Bullet in a Bible, while Tim Wheeler was a co-producer and editor for the excellent documentary The White Stripes Under Great Northern Lights.

Billie Joe Armstrong tells Billboard “It’s not going to be the sitting down, head shot of me going ‘we started out blah blah blah. We wanted to get into lifestyles of rock ‘n’ roll and playing rock n roll and letting the story kind of tell itself rather than create revisionist (history).” Is anyone else fully expecting a “blah blah blah” styled documentary based on that description?

OUCH! iPad Ruled Cooler than Samsung’s Tablet by UK Judge

This is the equivalent of a divorce lawyer saying “Your ex-husband was right to cheat on you with Bethany – she’s WAY hotter than you!” Apple is trying to block the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet’s sales by claiming patent infringement. Apple lost the latest battle, this time in the UK, but the decision prompted a “booyah!” victory of sorts. A UK Judge ruled that consumers can easily tell the 2 devices apart, noting that the Samsung tablets “do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is possessed by the Apple design. They are not as cool. The overall impression produced is different” (via Digital Trends). In the States, Apple was successful in getting the Samsung tablet banned from sales, but this ruling did not go in their favour in the UK. This was helped in the US when the Samsung legal team had difficulty pointing to the Samsung device when asked by the judge. Great work, Lionel Hutz!

Say It Ain’t So – Chumbawamba Break Up!

1 – I only know one song from Chumbawamba (you know the one). This was released 15 years ago.

2 – I thought Chumbawamba were one hit wonders (well, they were). I had NO idea they were still around.

3 – Chumbawamba have been around for THREE DECADES. W-t-f.

Cue the inevitable “they aren’t getting up again” jokes – Chumbawamba have broken up (via Stereogum). DAMN YOU INTERNET – YOU RUINED THE MUSIC INDUSTRY!

Paul McCartney to Score Destiny Video Game

Odd and interesting news from the Cute Beatle. Paul McCartney is working with Halo studio Bungie on a new shooter video game called Destiny (via Digital Trends). I find it strange when old people that probably know nothing about the product they are working on sign up or invest in things because they are advised to. No offense, Sir Paul McCartney, but do you know what Halo really is? The game won’t be out until Fall 2013, but Paul recently tweeted “I’m really excited to be working on writing music with @bungie, the studio that made Halo.” Having done operas, appeared in the Simpsons, played the Super Bowl and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and now doing video games, can we officially say that Sir Paul has done it all? NO – not until he does that interview with PeteHatesMusic.

Watch! Zola Jesus – Seekir

Zola Jesus has a new video for a track off of 2011’s Conatus. The video for Seekir gives us some heavenly white imagery (contrasted by her dark eyebrows…), and has a driving synth beat. Check it out below.
