Watch! Beirut – The Rip Tide
Santa Fe band Beirut released the album The Rip Tide last year. To promote it, they have already released a video for the song Vagabond, and now bring us a video for the title track, The Rip Tide (via pitchfork.com).
The video features a lot of beautiful ocean shots with sailboats. I keep waiting for Captain Jack Sparrow to show up and raid one of them. There’s a cool sunset in the middle of nowhere and majestic seagulls before things get trippy. The sky starts doing some amazing things, changing all sorts of colours. Talk about a memorable boat ride. Maybe this is what happens in the Bermuda triangle? The video has a tremendous sense of freedom to it, and I am digging the song. Check it out:
