How Music Can Change Film: Mrs. Doubtfire Becomes a Thriller

There was a course at my university that I wished I had taken – Music in Film. I talked to some friends who told me some of the obvious points about the use of strings and crescendos and whatnot, so I feel like I practically took it. However, someone named Peter Javidpour has taken a bit of this knowledge, and a bit of film editing, and together made the Robin Williams delightful comedy, Mrs. Doubtful, look like a psychological thriller (via The Daily Swarm). Speaking of Robin Williams, besides telling 100 jokes a minute and hoping 1 of them sticks, what the heck has he been doing lately? How do you say “Mrs. Doubtfire 2”??? Instead of daydreaming about what could be, check out Javidpour’s remade trailer below. Surely he could’ve worked in “it was a run by fruiting!”
