Watch! China Rats – To Be Like I

Below is a video from China Rats for To Be Like I, which sounds like it misuses pronouns or something. Any English teachers reading this? Anyway, the song is pretty fantastic and it shows the promise behind the band. The band are a four-piece from Leeds, who are inspired by “a love of punk’s riotous guitars, 50’s pop and classic British guitar bands”, and it’s reflected in their unique music. I’m inspired by a love of gummi bears and hilarious cat videos, which resulted in me creating the Jingle Cats (warning: not true).

Can you shoot us in colour next time?

The band released their debut EP on April 30, and To Be Like I is one of the three songs. I hate lumping bands in with other bands, but for reference purposes: think Arctic Monkeys meet the Vaccines. Check out the video below, which looks like it was shot using some kind of Instagram video camera.
