The PeteHatesMusic One Song Project on This is My Jam

If you look to the right hand side of this fine website, you might have noticed that we have 3 songs posted, and they change every Monday (depending on the severity of our weekend hangovers) to reflect the latest and great stuff that PeteHatesMusic has been listening to. Apart from these 3 weekly songs, we also post tons of new music we like every day, which you can see on our Video & Audio section.

But life is busy – even instant coffee isn’t fast enough for me. Sometimes you don’t have for all these recommendations – not even 3. How about 1? One measly song recommendation per week. That’s the premise behind This is My Jam, and we want you to take part it in with us. The premise is so simple, even I could figure it out. You create an account, and you pick one song that’s on YouTube or SoundCloud to represent your “jam” for the week. That’s it! Gold star! This is the ultimate in music distillation and music curation – just one song. Every Wednesday, PeteHatesMusic will pick one song – typically a new song, but maybe just a song you HAVE to hear – and we want you to do the same.

We want to create a network of music fans who have been dying to tell people about that one song they have in their head, that one song that they can’t believe no one else knows, but everyone NEEDS to know. And if it’s Nickelback or Justin Bieber, get the hell off this site. My Jam this week: Alt-J – Breezeblocks. The debut album from Alt-J comes out next week (but we are streaming it). The song is a couple of months old, the video is epic, but the song is back in my head after listening to An Awesome Wave.
