Listen! Metric – Speed the Collapse

Metric are about to release the cleverly named Synthetica on June 12. We first heard Youth Without Youth. The next nibble from the album comes in the form of Speed the Collapse. Poking around on Metric’s SoundCloud page, I discovered that all of their albums are streaming, in nice, organized sets. Not a lot of bands have full albums up there, but Metric does.

The guitar effects on Speed the Collapse remind me of Radiohead or perhaps Arcade Fire. Based on initial Internet comments (the most trustworthy and classy comments around), it seems like virtually everyone likes this song more than Youth Without Youth.
