Listen! Plushgun – Waste Away

Dan Ingala is an acoustic guitar player. I suppose in his Newton, apple on the head moment, Dan thought to add synth. This new direction for Dan led him to create Plushgun, which has since recruited Matt Bogdanow as a drummer. The Brooklyn indie band’s second album, Me.Me., is out on May 15. You can listen to the poppy, synth and whistle-featuring track, Waste Away, from the upcoming album, and realize that bands like this and the Black Keys are making whistling in music cool once again (which implies it was cool at one point, which I don’t know if it was).
