Listen! Baio (featuring Matias Aguayo) – Tanto
The bassist from Vampire Weekend – Chris Baio – is releasing a solo EP under the name Baio (how did he come up with that?!). The EP is called Sunburn, is out on May 21 (just in time for real life sunburns) and will contain 3 tracks. Since he’s in Vampire Weekend, I had a pre-conceived notion to how the first listen of Tanto (featuring Matais Aguayo) might sound. Let’s say that I was a) dead wrong and b) blown out of the water – the track is a fantastic, instrumental number with a huge tropical dance party feel. I love steel drums and Baio didn’t let me down.
