Is Grooveshark Sunk?

Digital Music News has obtained documentation (hopefully like Tom Cruise did in the first Mission: Impossible movie) that shows Grooveshark is being sued for $17 BILLION by Universal Music Group. Similar to what happened to Limewire, it appears that the big wigs at Grooveshark might be made personally liable.

Universal has accused Grooveshark of personally uploading 113,777 songs into their service. Universal has also decide to seek $150,000 per infringement, which works out to $17.1 billion.

However, Grooveshark has denied all charges and claims, saying evil internet blogs are the root cause of the mistake. We’ll see how this plays out – hopefully dramatically, in internet blogs worldwide.
