Listen to 2 Old Radiohead Demos; Watch Colin and Ed in a New Doc

2 little bits of Radiohead news for you this morning (which is generally better than 0 bits of news – unless the news is that they split up and will destroy all their past recordings). The first is that bassist Colin Greenwood and guitarist Ed O’Brien both pitched in a little for a documentary about the Oxford music scene. The film is called Anyone Can Play Guitar (bonus for Radiohead reference!) and it is written & directed by Jon Spira and narrated by Stewart Lee. Check out more information at the documentary’s website. Other Oxford bands featured include Foals, Ride, Supergrass, and Unbelievable Truth (which feature Thom Yorke’s brother, Andy).

The second bit of news is that demo tapes from 1986 have surfaced (how?!). They are up on YouTube and feature 2 songs (with sort of poor sound quality) that feature Radiohead when they were called On a Friday, and before they featured key member, Jonny Greenwood. Check them both out below – I think Thom’s voice has improved more than a little bit.
