Apple iOS 5.0.1 Now Available

With the new iPhone 4S, Apple updated their iOS operating system to iOS 5.0, which upgraded the platform for their iPhones and iPads. The reviews were generally all positive…except for the shitty battery life. I tried listening to the Flaming Lips 24-hour song and my phone died – who makes a product that can’t even play a single song?! After Apple nerds people complained, Apple listened, and today just offered iOS 5.0.1. When you next connect your iPhone or iPad to iTunes, you can install the update. iOS 5.0.1 claims to contains improvements and other bug fixes including:

• Fixes bugs affecting battery life
• Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
• Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
• Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

Australian users are having voice recognition problems? Maybe if they didn’t call things dingos, rockmelons, and grog, poor Siri wouldn’t have these problems.

Time to resume listening to the Spice Girls on loop with my new, improved battery life.
