Arcade Fire + City and Colour = Basketball Duo?!

When I think of Dallas Green, I think of how do I get that voice?! beautifully sad songs. When I think of Arcade Fire, I think of highly pretentious music I pretend to like complex world-dominating anthems. But now, I know what I would think when the two are combined – basketball teammates….?! Win Butler of the Arcade Fire and Dallas Green (aka City and Colour) are two of the people partaking in the Rock the Court basketball fundraiser taking place September 10 in Toronto. City and Colour’s Facebook page notes that Matt Bonner (San Antonio Spurs), Spencer Hawes (Philadelphia 76ers) & former NBA players Paul Shirley & Brent Barry will play in he 4on4 basketball tournament. Athletes for Africa and Toronto children’s charity St. Alban’s Boys & Girls Club are the benefiting charities.

The Arcade Fire are known to play hoops on their off days on their tours, so you have to believe that Win Butler is hiding some game. Dallas Green seems like the kind of guy who got picked on by the jocks in his school and is still writing songs about it, so we shall see what he brings to the tourney next month. Don’t believe me about Win Butler? Check out a video of him playing, as taken from Arcade Fire’s past webcast.
