Another New Record for Damon Albarn – This Time, Just in One Week!

Damon Albarn is a one man wrecking crew. That is actually a compliment. The man has tons of ideas, but he actually puts them into fruition. There is Blur, his Britpop best-selling band outfit. Then, the cartoon genre-bending band Gorillaz, which propelled him to new heights, with many new fans not knowing what a Blur is. Then came little known band The Good, The Bad, and the Queen, featuring many talented musicians. Damon then dabbled into a couple of operas. Yes, that is not a typo, or else I’d use the strikethrough feature which I am obsessed with.

Damon has helped many causes through his fame. Gigwise reports that Damon Albarn is headed to Congo to record and produce an album in a week, with proceeds going to Oxfam.

“The group, DRC Music, includes Tottaly Enormous Extinict Dinosaurs, Dan The Automator, Jneiro Jarel, Richard Russell, Actress, Marc Antoine, Jo Gunton and Kwes. The album is designed to highlight the ongoing humanitarian suffering in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which has been triggered by years of internal conflict. In 2001, Albarn work on a similar project for Oxfam in Mali. He has also worked in Nigeria with Africa Exprez.”

And just because I can, below is a video with Snoop Dogg and Gorillaz (which I have never seen before and its sorta effing weird! What is Snoop wearing and doing?!), from Plastic Beach comes Welcome to the World of Plastic Beach.
